Express May 02, 2010

LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said that an energy conference will be held in Lahore this month to address the energy crisis.

He was speaking to the media at Lahore airport after arriving from London.

The Punjab chief minister suggested that the federal government should search for another solution instead of asking shops to close early to conserve energy.

Sharif admitted that it was economically troublesome for the small traders to close shops at 8 pm.

He added that the government could not ask them to close early through the use of force.
