Shower: Rain brings temperature down

The PMD also predicted snowfall over hilly areas and upper parts of the country

Though the moderate rain brought temperature down in the civic cities on Friday, it turned weather pleasant, however.


Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that moderate rainfall could turn into heavy downpour in Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba, Dir, Swata, Kaghan, Naran, Shangla, Murree, Gillyat, Neelum Valley, Skardu, Astore, Diamer, Ghizer and Ghanche on Saturday.


It said that Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir could face the risk of land sliding in vulnerable areas due to the heavy rainfall.


The PMD also predicted snowfall over hilly areas and upper parts of the country with moderate rainfall in scattered places of Islamabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions, FATA, upper Punjab during the next 24 hours. The PMD said that western disturbances were affecting upper and central parts of the country which was likely to persist till Saturday morning.


The PMD has forecast cold and dry weather in most parts of the country except for isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, during the last 48 hours.
