LAHORE:

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will develop a forest theme park near Shahdara. The theme of the proposed 35-acre park will be a village featuring a variety of plants and trees.

PHA Director General Shakeel Ahmad said the authority had forwarded a proposal in this regard to the chief minister for his approval.

He said the facility would be built on a piece of land owned by the Forest Department. The park to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs150 million would have River Ravi on one of its ends. It would provide overnight stay facilities for which the authority would build beautiful huts,  Ahmad said. He said the government was keen on providing green spaces in region which would encourage wildlife and allow people to have recreation facilities.
