Illegal structures: SBCA takes action against several violators

SBCA has sealed and demolished unauthorised structures on 20 plots of various sizes in Karachi in the past week

The demolition squad of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed and demolished unauthorised structures on 20 plots of various sizes in Karachi in the past week as part of a special campaign.


Sharing details of the campaign on Monday, SBCA officials said strict action was taken against violators as well as facilitators of unauthorised conversion of residential buildings into commercial units. According to details, the second storey of a building constructed on a commercial plot, in Preedy Quarters, Saddar Town, was demolished for various violations.

Similarly, the fourth storey of a building raised in Ramswami area was brought down while construction on a bank premises, made without permission, was also demolished in Saddar Town.

Moreover, action was said to have been taken over various violations in several localities of Jamshed Town, Mehmoodabad, Lyari Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Kaniz Fatima Cooperative Housing Society, Bahadur Yar Jang Society, Gulberg Town, Liaqutabad Town, Gulbahar, and New Karachi Town.
