‘Detained’ by rangers: PFF appeals for official’s release

The law enforcement agency could not be reached for verification of the arrest

KARACHI: Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) general secretary Saeed Baloch was allegedly arrested by the Rangers on Saturday evening. The PFF has appealed to the Rangers director-general to release Baloch, an active supporter of labourers and a human rights activist. The PFF, in a statement on Sunday, said Baloch was an elected general secretary of the body and also general secretary of the Fishermen Cooperative Society. Baloch is also one of the senior members of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, it said, adding that he is a true human and labour rights activist. The law enforcement agency could not be reached for verification of the arrest of the PFF office bearer.
