How would you describe your body type?
Very lean, with defined bone structure.
Has your body type changed over the last 5 years?
I definitely think I’m leaner now than in my college days.
How has your style changed over the years?
I think in the past we have all had moments where we have worn cringe-worthy outfits, like cargo pants and capris that, quite frankly, were never in fashion even when they were supposed to be. However, more recently, my style has been a mix of high fashion casual chic and at times purely glamorous gowns and vintage dresses.
In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?
I sometimes have trouble gaining weight on my upper body, though who knows, I might end up becoming a transformer so I guess that’s not such a bad thing. Also, I wouldn’t mind being slightly curvy, but then again you make do with whatever God has blessed you with.
How do you dress according to your body type?
Sometimes I love wearing loose structure-less silhouettes that I look as if I am drowning in them, and other times I love form-fitted outfits that show off my collarbones, waist and long arms. I feel one can never go wrong with white graphic tees and I am huge fan; needless to say they are a staple in my wardrobe; so much so that I decided to create my own line of them.
In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?
For me, the biggest mistake is showing off unfit and flabby arms. Form-fitted clothes look good on toned bodies, I have seen people make the mistake of wearing extremely fitted clothes when their bodies are not toned and the silhouette is not flattering at all. In my opinion one needs to be mindful about colours that complement ones hair colour and skin tone.
What silhouettes suit your body the most?
I like to wear a lot of corsets and, occasionally, hourglass outfits with a 1950s feel.
What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?
I have never been one to shy away from experimenting with style. However, I find that sarongs, ill-fitted maxi skirts and sundresses worn as formal wear are some of the biggest fashion faux pas and I avoid wearing these at all costs!
