KARACHI:

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has summoned the Sindh Assembly on Friday, on the recommendation of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.

The Sindh Assembly secretary GM Umar Farooq said that the session has been called to adopt the pending bills and resolutions. "As per rules, we have to summon the session every month. There is no special agenda or intention behind this session," he said. Farooq added that in the last seven months, the assembly has only competed 29 days of parliamentary years that start from May 28. "We have to finish the remaining 71 parliamentary days in the coming four months and this means we will now call long sessions to meet our target," he said.

Official sources in the assembly said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Muhammad Hussain's adjournment motion pertaining to resolutions passed by assembly is also on the agenda. "In his adjournment motion, Hussain has demanded the implementation on the resolutions," sources in the assembly said. MQM has also moved a motion to give orders to those candidates who had passed the commission exam in 2014 for the post of assistant sub-inspectors, sources said.
