Suspect linked with Lyari gang war held from Haripur

The suspected target killer was wanted by Karachi police for involvement in several crimes of heinous nature, says DSP

HARIPUR: Police on Saturday arrested a suspect linked with target killing and other criminal activities in Lyari, from Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A police team, acting on a tip off, intercepted a car near Gajal village and arrested Zubair, son of Arif, resident of Dharam Pani village.

According to deputy superintendent police, Ishtiaq Khan, Zubair was wanted for his involvement in more than 80 eight heinous crimes of target killing and kidnappings for the last several years.

The suspect fled from Karachi after the commencement of a targeted operation against criminals.

Zubair will now be produced before a magistrate on Sunday and would be handed over to Karachi police, the DSP added.

Earlier on January 4, Counter Terrorism Department of Sindh apprehended five members of a banned organisation in Karachi and recovered arms from their possession.
