Wondering if you’re about to get fired? Job insecurity can leave one terribly apprehensive.

Here are some telltale signs from Reddit users who shared their stories and advice in a thread, just so you’re not caught off guard.

1) "Can you give me a list of everything you are working on?"

According to one Reddit user who got fired, getting asked too many question about your current projects is a sign you may be getting the axe.

2) Less communication

No emails, no projects, no communication? Well here’s another major red flag most Reddit users agreed on.

I think a sign you're being displaced is silence. If you are used to a flood of communication (email, phone calls, etc) from someone, and suddenly that goes dead without explanation, then it's a sign the relationship is about to change drastically.

3) You will have less work to do

To some Reddit users, not getting enough work is a sign you’re about to get fired and an attempt to “induce a resignation.”

“Your work oad will get lighter and lighter. You'll complete projects and no new projects will be given to you.” said one Reddit user.

“At an hourly job, if they stop putting you on the schedule/make you only work one or two shifts a week, you're probably about to be fired.”

4) You’re asked to train someone new

If that’s not normally your responsibility, beware! You might be training your replacement.

5) You can no longer access you work email

A Reddit user working in the IT department affirms that employee email credentials are disabled before the employee is told about their dismissal.

“I work in IT, and when someone is being fired I am notified a few minutes before the employee is told. We have a checklist: disable network and email credentials, then forcibly disconnect their connections/sessions.”

6) A change of upper level management

Some Reddit users agreed that change of upper level management means people will get laid off. “If there is a change in upper level management it usually means there will be a significant reorganisation coming and people will lose their jobs.”
