ISLAMABAD: To educate women in rural areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Mobilink Foundation has teamed up with Institute of Social and Policy Sciences (I-SAPS) and GuarantCo. The initiative titled, ‘SMS-based Adult Female Literacy Programme’ is providing technology-based education to women near their houses. “Our project has changed the lives of more than 10,000 women across the country,” a press release quoted Mobilink Head of Corporate Communications Omar Manzur as saying. He added they use mobiles as a tool for education; “It helps them reach areas without any formal schooling system.” The eight districts, including Mardan and Buner, are reached though Village Education Support Committees formed by I-SAPS.
