Post jirga: Tribal malik among four slain

All those who were slain belonged to the Mehsud tribe which resides in the mountainous Shak Toi area

DI KHAN:


Four people, including a tribal malik, were killed in an armed assault by unidentified gunmen on Thursday in the Shak Toi region of Sararogha tehsil in South Waziristan Agency. An official of the political administration confirmed the incident to The Express Tribune.


The incident took place at 2pm when Malik Wali Khan was coming home after attending a jirga to discuss the maintenance of peace in the area. Others gunned down in the attack were identified as Jawad khan, Akbar and Afzal.


All those who were slain belonged to the Mehsud tribe which resides in the mountainous Shak Toi area.


Meanwhile, an unidentified person blew up a vehicle using an improvised explosive device. The blast in Mullah Khan Sarai, South Waziristan destroyed the vehicle. However, no injuries or loss to human life was reported. The targeted vehicle belonged to a tribal elder and was standing in front of his house.
