Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday ordered the removal of former Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Tariq Hanif Joya, illegally appointed as a secretary at the National Police Foundation (NPF), said an official of the ministry.
Tariq Hanif Joya was posted as a secretary at NPF in February 2012 on a heavy salary and enjoyed perks in violation of the law.
Taking notice of the appointment, the interior minister ordered his removal.
The official said that the removal came after some employees of the foundation filed a formal application to the minister requesting him to take action against the official for his illegal appointment.
The minister also ordered the recovery of salary which he was paid during his tenure from the national exchequer.
The minister also directed to managing director of the foundation to file a report answering why no action was taken against the illegal appointment.
