LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from the Nishtar Colony SHO in connection with a citizen’s petition against a friend for allegedly abducting his wife.

Petitioner Amanat Ali told the court that he used to pool money in a committee with Javed Iqbal alias Saddam. He said Iqbal used to frequent his residence to collect committee dues.

Ali said he had started seeing his wife who had later eloped with him. He said he had looked for her in vain for a few days before realising that she had been “abducted” by Javed.

Ali said he had repeatedly requested Javed to “return” his wife. He said he had instead threatened to kill him.

He said Imran, Abdur Rasheed and Nasreen Bibi were also involved in his wife’s “abduction.”
