PESHAWAR:
Thwarting a major plot of terrorism in the city the Peshawar police on Tuesday arrested two alleged militants after an exchange of fire and recovered weapons and explosives from their possession. The militants namely Amir Saeed and Amin Dad were arrested by Matani police after an encounter at boundary of tribal areas connected with Matani. Police chief Mubarik Zeb said that his department received intelligence information about the entry of militants to the city via Matani after which the police party under the supervision of DSP Yasin Khan and SHO Matani Sardar Ali Shah conducted a raid on a forest in the area. The police tried to stop the suspects when they retaliated with indiscriminate firing at the police. The police fired back and successfully arrested the militants seizing weapons.
