Two suspects arrested in Express DSNG attack case

Police say arrested killers were wanted in various cases including killing policemen & members of Shia community

Sindh Police arrested on Tuesday two hit men involved in various cases, including an attack on an Express DSNG van in 2014 which resulted in the death of three media workers.

“The arrested men belong to a group of 10 people that have been active in Karachi since 2014 and were involved in various target killing cases and attacking media persons,” DIG West Feroz Shah said while addressing the media.

Shah added that the suspects were wanted in various cases, including killing policemen and members of the Shia community.

“The group mainly operated from the Orangi Town area of Karachi and consisted of accused Saqib, Naveed, Kashif, Imran, Sarfaraz, Javed Afridi, Qari Rasheed, Qari Mohsin, Rehan and Kamran,” he said.

Of the ten-member gang, two men have been arrested whereas others are still at large and efforts are underway to apprehend them, said the police official.

Soon after the arrest, IG Sindh Police announced a prize money of Rs 1 million for the police officials who carried out the raids to arrest the men.
