Yasir staring at minimum two-year ban as PCB opt against B sample test

The 29-year-old is currently ranks fourth in the ICC Test ranking for bowlers

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received a detailed report regarding Yasir Shah’s doping test, reported Express News.

After going through the report and Yasir’s admission that he did take his wife’s blood pressure medicine, the PCB have decided to not request a B sample test.

The leg-spinner was randomly selected for a dope test on November 13, 2015, and was tested positive due to the presence of the banned substance called chlortalidone.



The International Cricket Council (ICC) provisionally suspended Shah from taking part in any cricket activity following the results of the dope test.

The 29-year-old is currently ranked fourth in the ICC Test ranking for bowlers, and has 76 wickets to his credit in just 12 Tests.

With the decision of not going for the B sample test, Shah now faces a minimum two-year ban from all cricketing activities.
