Higher Education: GCU deans’ appointment approved

LAHORE: The government on Wednesday appointed Prof Muhammad Iqbal Shahid as Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning dean at the Government College University (GCU) Lahore. The post had been lying vacant for eight years. Vice Chancellor Hassan Amir Shah had moved a summary to Governor Rafiq Rajwana through the Higher Education Department (HED) for the appointment of deans in Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning. The governor has also approved the appointment of Prof Islamullah Khan as the Science of Technology dean.
