The country’s largest distance learning institution has decided to introduce bachelor of laws classes from next year.
The Allama Iqbal Open University will be starting LLB courses from next semester, AIOU Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui stated in a news release on Monday.
The university is currently in the process of finalising relevant faculty members and course material. Siddiqui said the programme will be allotted its own space in AIOU’s main campus. He said the new space will have a model “court room” to help students familiarise themselves with actual court proceedings.
Initially, the programme will only take a limited number of students from Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
