LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its crackdown on adulterated and sub-standard food products during the holidays, sealing a number of restaurants and imposing fine on several others.

A Ravi Town team sealed Husnain Chatkhara, Faryad Milk Shop, Baoo Bakers and Lahori Naan Shop in Shahdara over poor hygiene. Al-Madina Departmental Store, Shahzad Pan Shop, Ali Hajveri Pan Shop and Madina Super Store were closed for operating without licences. A Gulberg Town team sealed Tabassum Pan Shop, Bilal Pan Shop, Madina Store, Chaudhry Store and Punjab Nan Shop near Baray Mian Darsgah Stop for operating without licences. A Gulberg Town team fined Amjad Sweets and Bakers, Goga Naqibia Murgh Chanay, Model Town, and International Bakers in Ghalib Market for poor cleanliness.

Samanabad Town officials imposed penalty on Koozi Haleem, Wasa Colony, and Sanam Murgh Chanay, Rehmanpura, for poor hygiene conditions. Gourmet Bakers, Coaster Bakers and Fazal Sweets were fined for not printing expiry dates on some of their food products.

A Nishtar Town team fined Gourmet and Doce Bakers in Youhanabad for not printing expiry dates on their cakes. Action was also taken against Ghausia Hotel on Sher Shah Road, Doce Bakers in Ravi Town and Jalal Sons in Allama qbal Town for not printing expiry dates on food products.

An Allama Iqbal Town team fined Chaska Hotel and Asghar Hotel in Johar Town. Dilkusha Hotel, Bholay Ka Hotel, Mehtab Milk Shop, Best Nimko, Tariq Bakery, Tayyaba Milk Shop and Lahori Nan Shop were fined over poor cleanliness.
