Development: Sanaullah inspects expressway project

The Punjab government has completed several projects to improve the communication infrastructure for sustainable socio-economic development in the province.


Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullha Khan said this on Saturday while inspecting the construction of the 25-kilometre dual-carriage canal bank expressway, being constructed at a cost of Rs8 billion.

Talking to newsmen, the law minister said the road would connect Faisalabad to Gatwala Canal Road via Sahianwala motorway interchange.

“People will enjoy signal-free travel on this road,” he said.  The law minister expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of construction. He said the Jhall Chowk underpass and flyover, being built at a cost of Rs2 billion, would help ease traffic congestion in the city. He said flyovers and underpasses at various intersections in Faisalabad were being planned.  He appreciated the efforts of DCO Noorul Amin Mengal in supervising the development projects

DCO Mengal earlier told the law minister that the Canal Expressway and Jhall Chowk underpass/flyover would be completed by March 2016 He said construction on one side of the underpass at Gatwala on expressway had been completed. He said a flyover near Sahianwala had also been constructed. He said another flyover on Khurrianwala-Chak Jhumra Road would be completed in two weeks.
