Under Fire: Security officer escapes attack
According to the official, the culprits were identified as Iqbal alias Bali, Afzal and Asmatullah
DI KHAN:
A security officer at Chashma Sugar Mill in DI Khan narrowly escaped gunfire Saturday morning, an official of Gomel police station told The Express Tribune. “Sher Sirhad was travelling in his vehicle,” he said. “When he reached a bridge [within the limits of the police station], three men flagged down his vehicle and one of them opened fire on him. However, he managed to escape unhurt.” According to the official, the culprits were identified as Iqbal alias Bali, Afzal and Asmatullah. “Afzal was an employee at the sugar mill,” he said. “He had been removed from service a few days back. We have reason to believe the incident was a reaction to his dismissal.” Police are investigating the matter.
