A woman in Australia has been charged with "serious religious abuse" after she posted comments against Islam on a social networking website.

The woman, 38, from Swan Hill allegedly posted comments about Islam on Facebook which the police claimed would encourage others to cause harm to Muslims.

"All mosques should be burnt down with the doors locked at prayer time," she wrote on a Facebook page, Stop the Mosque in Bendigo.

She later took to the site once again to justify her comment, "Probably not the best thing to write but that’s my opinion, others commented after my post agreeing with it and unbeknown to myself it got a lot of likes, that is where their incitement charge is coming from.”

Despite being aware of the charges levied against her, the Australian woman said, “I am more than happy for it to go public, if I do nothing about it and let them win it goes against everything I stand for and I can’t do that! I didn’t want this or the publicity that will come with it but it is what it is and I’m not about to back down.”

Soon after the post went viral, people managing the Facebook page, informed their followers that the comment was immediately deleted, further adding that they must keep their comments "within the law".

The page also put a call out for participants to start their own complaints. “It is time to start our own discrimination and racial vilification actions on anti-white, anti-Australian and anti-infidel Australian posts, videos and sermons. If you find them... screenshot or capture them and send them to us,” the post says.

LS | 8 years ago | Reply @Someone: For the uninitiated... Paki population grew 8 times since your independence while population in India grew less than 4 times. Your birth rate is above 3.5 (Official figures provided to UN are farce) Even by that standards your growth rate is 34.2% per Pakistani census.... from 2000 to 2011 which is twice that of India @ 15.9% for the same period.
Someone | 8 years ago | Reply @Stranger: What a dumb comment. Population control needs to be implemented in India of all places, where the population bomb is ticking. Then the USA, the land of Red Indians which is overloaded with 300 million extra people.
