Netball: Abbottabad girls college win contest

Second session of Australian Sports Commission Under-16 Girls Netball Programme concludes.

PESHAWAR: The second session of the Australian Sports Commission Under-16 Girls Netball Coaching Development and Tournament Programme concluded at Government Girls High School Haripur on Sunday.

Director Sports Kulsoom Shujaat was the chief guest. General Secretary of the Pakistan Netball Federation Mudassir Arain, Secretary of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Netball Association Nadia Chamkani, officials of the District Abbottabad Netball Association, players, officials and spectators were also present on the occasion. The three-day coaching and development program was successfully completed with 110 players from different educational institutions taking part. A total of eight netball teams were registered for the coaching course. In the final match, Government Girls College Abbottabad No.1 easily defeated Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mirpur by a score of 16-2.

Earlier in the first semi-final, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mirpur defeated Government High School Kakul 6-1 while in the second semi-final Government Girls College Abbottabad No. 1 outclassed Comprehensive Girls High School with a 14-2 scoreline. Director Sports Kulsoom Shujaat was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed trophies.
