Woman throws acid on ex’s wife

The accused, Jan Bibi, was arrested while escaping in a rickshaw with the empty bottle of acid

A woman threw acid on the face of another woman in Killi Shabo area of Quetta to avenge being dumped by the victim’s husband, police said on Wednesday.


According to police, Jan Bibi, wearing gloves on her hands, entered Amina Saqib’s home pretending to be an employee of National Census Department, “She threw acid on Amina’s face and fled,” a police official said.

Police and rescue workers rushed her to the burns ward of Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) where doctors stated her life to be out of danger, but, “Amina has received 20 per cent burn injuries,” Dr Muhammad Ayoub said.


The accused Jan Bibi was arrested while escaping in a rickshaw with the empty bottle of acid. “Jan Bibi has confessed before the investigators,” the police official said.

She was in a relationship with Saqib, but he married Amina. As revenge, Jan Bibi attacked Saqib’s wife, he said.
