Rankings: Rehman, Tanvir rise

Fast-bowler Tanvir Ahmed, who took four for 63 in first-innings, has leapt 16 places to be behind Rehman.

After taking six wickets in the match, left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman has jumped 13 places to be placed 39th in the latest ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers.

The two bowlers are still in the qualification period for bowlers and are likely to climb further given their performance in the second Test against New Zealand. South African Dale Steyn leads the pack followed by England spinner Graeme Swann. Meanwhile in the Player Rankings for Test batsmen, former captain Younus Khan slipped two places to 19th while captain Misbahul Haq rose six places to be 36th. Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and South Africa’s Jacques Kallis are joint-first with 883 points.
