Both sides agreed that they would enhance mutual cooperation for exploring business and investment opportunities for their members in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) programme that would connect Kashgar and Gwadar.

The Kashgar chamber will facilitate members of the ICCI in getting visas for frequent visits to the Chinese region seeking business opportunities in Guangzhou New City’s Special Economic Zone. The ICCI will reciprocate and help members of the Kashgar chamber in searching for investment avenues in Pakistan.

They will set up a joint working group comprising five to six members from each side that will work on the mutually agreed agenda for promoting economic interests of both countries. They will exchange information about trade opportunities and facilitate participation of each other’s members in trade fairs and exhibitions in their respective countries for giving a push to bilateral trade, investment and joint ventures.

Both chambers will also cooperate in exchange of business delegations to create business linkages and explore new avenues of mutual cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdujilil Halil said Chinese investors were looking at Pakistan with great interest in terms of investment and joint ventures and voiced the hope the MoU would help in forging business partnerships between private sectors of the two countries.
