When Apple Music launched in June, the music subscription service didn’t offer the entire iTunes catalogue, with a few big names such as The Beatles notably missing. That could be about to change, according to a report that cites sources suggesting the famous British rock band will be available for the first time this week on online streaming services, reported IANS.

Much to the excitement of Beatles’ fans worldwide, music of the famed rock group is slated to release on online portals, most likely on Christmas Eve. According to Billboard magazine, there is conflicting information about the exact date on which the originals will enter the playlists of music streamers but December 24 may just be it. It remains unknown what services have secured the deal, although sources suggest that most, if not all, will have access to the band’s catalogue of studio albums by next week.

Whatever the deal, parties involved are keeping it under the wraps, reported Variety. When asked, representatives from music streaming platforms, such as Rhapsody, Spotify, Apple, and Slacker, chose not to comment on the status of the looming deal.

It took The Beatles six years to join the ranks of iTunes’ artist roster, 25 years to release the Anthology documentary, following the band’s 1970 dissolution, and 22 years to re-establish their music after initially releasing it on CD in 1987. The Fab Four sold 450,000 digital albums and over two million tracks during their first week on the iTunes store in 2010.
