In a breathtaking shoot with Abdullah Harris, his take on the traditional wedding is depicted through the grandeur of dresses and the dark skin tone of both models, Amna Baber and Hasnain Lehri.
A blast of colours against all white
The set stereotype of applying oodles of makeup to look fairer has marked our bridal industry for decades. This shoot challenges the concept and aims to change perceptions so that people love and embrace the colour they are born with.
Talking about the shoot, Ali said, "This has been a huge concept for me that I always wanted to articulate. Its really close to my heart and I wanted to make sure that it was done right. This shoot's sole purpose is to have people understand that their colour is the right colour; that beauty standards are not to be stereotyped."
Speaking volumes about fashion
"You should be you on your wedding day. And I hope to do more shoots like these where brown beauty is embraced and celebrated as much as any other. Learn to love yourself," he added.
If more shoots like these come across, we definitely will be challenging the "ideal" beauty standards in Pakistan, and for the better!
