Crossfire: Two militants killed in South Waziristan
A security official was injured during the clash
PESHAWAR:
At least two militants were killed during a clash with security forces in Kanday Ghar, South Waziristan Agency on Saturday. Officials privy to the development told The Express Tribune, the incident occurred when security forces launched a search operation in an area dominated by Ahmadzai Wazir tribe. A security official was injured during the clash. A faction of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack. However, no formal statement has been issued by either Inter-Service Public Relations or the political administration in this regard. Earlier in December at a jirga in Wana, the Ahmadzai Wazir tribespeople had said it would ban outsider militants.
