LAHORE:

A constable was injured when some robbers opened fire at him on Saturday. ASI Hammad Raza said three constables – Muhamamd Sultan, Muhammad Sakhi and Muhamamd Ramazan – were patrolling on Wahdat Road. When they reached Karim Block, they came across two suspects sitting on a roadside. When they asked for their identity cards, the suspects fled. The policemen followed them but they opened fire at them injuring Sultan. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital where doctors treating him said his condition was stable. Police later mounted a search operation and arrested the suspects. Raza said the men had earlier snatched a purse in Ravi Block of Allama Iqbal Town.
