BATKHELA:

The federal government has decided to establish a directorate in Peshawar for the Malakand Levies Force to help resolve challenges faced by levies personnel.

“The decision was made during a meeting with Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch in Islamabad,” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Malakand MNA Junaid Akbar told journalists in Batkhela on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister was briefed on a series of challenges faced by personnel of levies forces.

“These included problems caused by service rules, salaries, allowances and budgetary allocations,” Akbar added.

Therefore, federal minister formally approved the establishment of a directorate in Peshawar for the levies force in Malakand district,” the PTI MNA said. “He also directed the relevant authorities to post a director general at the central office.”
