SUKKUR: Scores of residents staged a sit-in on Saturday in protest over the police’s continued failure to find seven kidnapped people.

The protesters observed a token hunger strike at Clock Tower Chowk, Kandhkot, for the second consecutive day on Saturday. Kidnapping for ransom has become rampant for the past two months in Kashmore district and more than 10 people were kidnapped. Three victims have been found.

Office bearers of Shehri Ittehad and Hindu Panchayat called for this protest which received a good response from activists of Sindh National Front, Awami Tehreek, Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party and Peoples Party - Shaheed Bhutto.
