13 militants killed in Awaran search operation

Security forces have killed 13 suspected militants in a search operation carried out in the Barnat area of Awaran district, sources said on Monday.


According to them, the search operation, which targeted members of banned organisations in the area, was conducted over two days. “Eleven militants belonging to banned organisations were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces today (Monday). Two others were killed yesterday (Sunday),” one source said.

Weapons were recovered from the deceased suspects’ possession, the source added. “The weapons recovered include sub-machine guns, sniper rifles and rocket launchers. Motorcycles were also found in their possession.”

Security forces confirmed the carried out the search operation in Barnat. However, they did not give a toll of the suspected militants killed during the action.
