MULTAN/ SHANGLA: After Sindh Assembly Monday delayed ratification of a resolution to extend special powers to Rangers, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan alleged that the provincial government was deliberately holding up the matter to protect its corruption.

Addressing a massive rally in Pooran area of Shangla, Imran argued that the paramilitary force had managed to curb terrorism in the megalopolis.

Sindh chief minister changes tack on Rangers powers

Imran said the Sindh government was anxious to delay extending those powers for another term because it wanted to hide its corruption in Karachi.

“The tenure of Rangers is not being extended because they are a substantial force to curb terrorism in the city,” the PTI chief claimed.

SC forced PML-N to hold LG polls

Imran said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government in Punjab was not in favour of holding local government elections and it was the Supreme Court which compelled them to do so.

The PTI Chief went on to claim that the local government in K-P will empower people.

Naya Pakistan not possible without support from Karachi, says Imran

Speaking about Karachi, he said that the megalopolis’s new mayor would have no powers unlike mayors in K-P.

Imran backs Sadiq over ECP

In a surprising move, Imran backed National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq over the latter’s criticism of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Sadiq had lashed out against the poll body on Sunday for referring a petition against him without consulting with him first. Backing Sadiq, Imran said he had held this stance for the past three years.
