KARACHI: Dengue fever claimed another life in the city taking the total death toll to 11 this year, reported the health department on Monday. The deceased, Muhammad Azeem, 45, resident of Liaquatabad, was admitted at a private hospital and died during the treatment, confirmed head of the Dengue Prevention and Control Programme (DPCP) manager Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi. Health officials claimed that generally dengue cases are not reported after November 15. However, more than 100 dengue cases were reported last week. “I think the pattern of the virus is changing now,” said Dr Solangi. “It is a very dangerous sign if cases are reported in this cold season.”
