PML-N, MQM draw daggers in National Assembly

PML-N, MQM draw daggers once again at each other as they take a dig at political moves of each other’s parties.

ISLAMABAD: The PML-N and MQM are once again at daggers drawn with each other as Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Haider Abbas Rizvi took a dig at the political moves of each other’s parties.

Nisar lashed out in the National Assembly against the MQM for rejoining the ruling government while MQM's Rizvi replied by saying the PML-N is not on good terms with any political party.

Nisar targeted the MQM, particularly its demands of a revolution. He also taunted the MQM for putting up a show to seek benefits. In response, Rizvi said the PML-N is not happy with the MQM's ideology of a revolution.

He added that credit should go to the MQM for forcing the government to reverse the price hike in petroleum products.

Salman | 13 years ago | Reply @Liaquat Ali: Very well put. The perception I get from talking to some members of the MQM's constituency is that they approve of MQM's strategy and game plan. What more can a political party ask for? @Patriot: If a political party can achieve its' objectives in less than a week, so be it. It has demonstrated its' value in the Centre brilliantly in a short span of time, so why prolong the protest???? MQM's main objective was to force the PPP to agree to hold local body elections which PPP had committed to do within 90 days after the dissolution of the local government, and effective actions against the perpetrators of violence against MQM leaders and activists. It seems to have progressed towards achieving both these objectives. Opposition to RGST and increase in oil prices were peripheral ruse and raised to rally the general public around. MQM did it in a manner that a large political party like PML (N) is forced to imitate its' strategy in a whimpish manner. Well, hopefully democratic politicking will gain strength from these political maneauvers. When all is said and done, politics is the art of statecraft and all political parties should strive to serve their constituencies, and by extension the public at large.

razi uddin khan | 13 years ago | Reply Not all the dreams come true..that is what the phrase is..so Mr.Nawaz and the all leagueies..hold your horses..you keep the fake fight with pppp till what ever you agreed upon..and let Muttahida decide their own political path.. here is some advise for MQM..please don't betray your electorates,and do something concrete for changing the present precarious situation of 98% poor people..as you claim you are doing...or else...you have limited choice..but to go for telephonic adress!!!
