PESHAWAR: The provincial counter terrorism department arrested on Thursday a notorious terrorist belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Darra Adam Khel after a raid in Haji Camp area of Peshawar.

Muhammad Zahir alias Badshah was wanted for his involvement in several terrorist attacks on security personnel, as well as in extortion cases since 2004.

In 2010, he killed three security personnel, and two years later shot dead a peace committee member in Sanjab area.

Badshah in 2014 ambushed a security convoy near Mattani bypass, killing five army personnel and injuring as many.

During interrogation, he admitted extorting money from businessmen and other wealthy figures.

Earlier on Wednesday, five Afghan refugees were arrested in a joint operation of police and other security forces in the vicinity of Army Public School in Peshawar.
