KARACHI:

A Lahore-bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from Karachi was delayed by 14 hours at Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday.

Flight no PK-760, with 220 passengers on board, was travelling from Jeddah to Lahore but was diverted to Jinnah International Airport due to foggy weather in Lahore, said sources. According to PIA PRO Daniyal Gillani, the flight was scheduled to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore but was diverted due to low visibility. It arrived at Jinnah International Airport at 4:30am.

He added that the flight was once again scheduled to take off at around 1pm but returned to Jinnah International Airport again due to a technical fault. Passengers remained stranded for 14 hours before the management announced the flight's departure. A female passenger claimed that people, particularly children, suffered from the situation. Meanwhile, the flight finally took off to Lahore at 6:55pm, Gillani confirmed.
