What would have been particularly heartening for Sylhet was the way all their bowlers were among the wickets. Ravi Bopara was the pick of an impressive lot as he claimed 3-12 in his four overs. Pakistan T20I skipper Shahid Afridi, who is also captaining Sylhet, meanwhile gave away only five runs in his four overs while also picking up two wickets.
Only two Barisal batsmen reached double figures, with Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Sami top-scoring with a paltry 16 off 21 balls. West Indian opener Evin Lewis, with 12 off 15 balls, was the only other batsman to reach double figures.
In reply, Super Stars were able to reach the target in just 11.2 overs for the loss of one wicket. Sri Lankan Dilshan Munaweera was dismissed for a duck by Sami in the first over but there was to be no sensational comeback for the Bulls as Junaid Siddique and Nurul Hasan guided them home.
With the bowlers sharing the wickets among themselves, Junaid Siddique’s 34 was enough to earn him the man-of-the-match award.
