Prince William reveals young George is excited for Christmas

Duke of Cambridge opens up in a candid interview and reveals how he won’t be getting any sleep this Christmas Eve

Christmas is an exciting event for every kid -- even if he’s a prince -- and it seems like two-year-old Prince George has recently discovered what the holiday is all about and is looking forward to it.

“George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. He’s suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about. If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it’ll be good!” said father Prince William in a candid interview.



The Duke of Cambridge also has a seven-month-old daughter who is bound to take up a lot of his time. “So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it,” said the devoted father.

He also spoke about his plans for the holidays, revealing the family would go to church on Christmas like they do every year.

“Then we’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them. It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own. It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years,” said Prince William.



However, this year the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will not be joining the Royal Family in Norfolk on Christmas and will instead spend it with Kate’s family. They will host the festivities at Anmer Hall, reports The Mail on Sunday.

In other news, it appears Prince William is a man of his word.  This candid interview was with journalist Sophia Kichou, who met him four years ago when she was homeless and wanted to be a journalist. The prince had promised her then that if she realised her dream he would give her an interview, and he followed through!

Passionate about charity, Prince William thinks his mother inculcated the habit in him, saying: “I think it goes back to when my mother first took the [patron’s] role when I was a small boy. I was very struck by the people I met and what they were struggling with – sleeping rough, sofa surfing, not having basic comforts a lot of us take for granted."

"That really struck me at a young age, bearing in mind the gulf for me, growing up in a palace and seeing the other end of the spectrum. That was powerful to see at a young age.In today’s Western world, with all the advancements and privileges we have, the fact some people don’t have a bed or a roof over their head is quite ridiculous,” he divulged.
