Fighting diseases: DCs ordered to monitor polio campaigns

Pechuho directed deputy commissioners to ensure that children below the age of five are administered polio drops

HYDERABAD: MNA Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho has asked all the Hyderabad deputy commissioners to give special attention in monitoring the anti-polio and epidemic diseases campaigns in their districts, to ensure the eradication of these diseases. She said this at a meeting in Shahbaz Hall on Saturday. Pechuho directed all the deputy commissioners to ensure that children below the age of five are administered polio drops. After Karachi, Hyderabad is the biggest and largest division of the province because of which efforts are required to root out the polio and epidemic diseases from here, she said. She ordered the relevant officers to ensure availability of all the resources and asked the staff to improve their performance. District health officers, commissioner Asif Haider Shah and provincial coordinator Shahnaz Wazir Ali also attended the meeting.
