KARACHI: A four-year-old girl died of poisoning and four other people of the same family fainted apparently after inhaling mosquito-repellant spray in Shah Faisal Colony on Friday. According to officials at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), a minor girl, Serina, died and her father Safdar, mother Ghazala, sister Shanzay and brother Talha, fell unconscious when they sprayed anti-mosquito spray in a room and shut all ventilation. A doctor at JPMC’s ward 5 told The Express Tribune that the family had sprayed the room and had closed all the doors and windows. “After several hours, when their condition became worse, they rushed to the hospital,” said the doctor. The family members were discharged when their condition improved.
