PESHAWAR: A resident from Mohmand Agency complained officials from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) blocked his wife’s national identity card. Haji Bahadur Khan, a resident of Mohmand Agency, currently living in Chamkani, said this at a news conference held at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday. Haji accused NADRA officials of accepting documents of Afghan nationals and issuing them Pakistani national identity cards but refused to accept his wife’s documents after she failed to speak in Urdu. “I have evidence that NADRA issued CNICs to Afghan nationals who also obtained Pakistani passports and travelled abroad,” said Khan. He added he got his wife’s documents needed for the CNIC, documents attested by officials in his village as well as in Peshawar. However, NADRA refused to accept the documents, he said. He demanded the authorities take notice of the issue.
