Routine checking: Police round up eight suspects

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police have arrested eight suspects and recovered narcotics and unlicenced weapons from them, a spokesperson said on Sunday. New Town police arrested a suspect, identified as Zain, in possession of an unlicenced 30-bore pistol. Another team of the same police station arrested Fazlur Rehman and seized an unidentified number of stolen mobile phones from his possession. The Westridge police intercepted Riaz and Waqas with 250kg and 270kg hashish respectively. The Pirwadhai police seized a 30-bore pistol from Shahbaz, a 30-bore pistol and four rounds from Siraj and 20 litres of liquor from Asalm. Separate cases have been registered against all the suspects.
