There is so much that is right with Pakistan and there is so much more that can be right.

Ironic that the right, who clamour about rule of law, are not happy seeing it applied where it does not suit them.

If we can’t laugh at ourselves, if we believe we are only born to die, then something is seriously wrong.

Tell any Pakistani that we are isolated and they react with strategic depth and the nuclear power theory.

There’s no talk of hundreds of poverty-related suicides, increasing unemployment or education.

It’s the politicians, stupid. It’s the Americans, stupid. It’s the religious right, stupid.

Each one of us needs to stand up and say that we want a society that adheres to the rule of law.

There is a belief that women are suited to soft jobs like art, culture, tourism, education and women’s development.

It’s about finding a party, making an effort to stay with it and not get sucked into the business as usual routine.

We may be able to change things in our lifetime and lay the foundation to build a future on.
