ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday ordered the IGP to complete an inquiry report on the killing of a young man in an alleged encounter and submit the dossier in court by December 4.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui granted time to submit the report on the request of DSP (legal) after he informed the court that the police have already registered a case and need some more time to complete investigation.

According to the counsel for the deceased, Sardar Ashiq Hussain Balouch, 21-year-old Hussain Bux alias Chotu was taken into custody from Ramna Police Station without the requisite legal formalities by a police party comprising officials from Hyderabad. Balouch claimed Bux was later killed in an alleged encounter within the limits of Tando Yousuf Police Station, Sindh on October 16.

The counsel alleged that though Ramna police had initially detained Bux, the capital’s police are now denying ever arresting him. He added the police have lodged a case against officials of Hyderabad in a bid to dissociate themselves from the case.

The FIR states Ramna policemen were present near a graveyard in Sector G-12 when three vehicles arrived and picked Bux up, said Balouch. He, however, added that the raiding police party did not inform the capital’s police or lodge an entry in any of the city’s police station for the arrest, thus raising questions about the legality of the move.
