Behind bars : Nine criminals arrested in K-P

The operation was conducted in Ruree, Kot Kandyan, Bacha Abad and Lonee areas

Officials of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) in Malakand Division arrested two people on Monday on charges of assisting a wanted terrorist.


According to a press release issued by the CTD, a house was raided in Biakan area in Matta, Swat from where Abdul Ghaffar and Zakirullah were picked up. The suspects were allegedly involved in facilitating terrorist Umerzada, who was wanted by Swat police in numerous cases. The CTD team also seized a vehicle from their possession. An FIR has been lodged.

Meanwhile, officials of Special Police Unit (SPU), Bannu, apprehended a suspected murderer who was accused of killing a policeman. The press release issued by SPU stated Saeed, who was involved in the killing of police constable Shah Zeb a few days ago, was arrested near Mandan Gate while he was attempting an escape to Karachi. Police shifted the man to an undisclosed location for investigation, the press release added.

In another development, DI Khan police conducted a search in Kulachi and rounded up six outlaws wanted by the police. The operation was conducted in Ruree, Kot Kandyan, Bacha Abad and Lonee areas.
