KARACHI:

The dispute between the chairperson and controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) has compelled higher authorities to take action against the latter by repatriating him to Mirpurkhas.

The notification issued by the board’s section officer said, "In pursuance of the report from Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi chairperson on October 6, Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti, controller of examinations is hereby repatriated to the Board of Secondary Education, Mirpurkhas in light of the judgment of the Supreme Court dated June 12, 2013."

On the other hand, the controller, in a letter addressed to the secretary to the chief minister for boards and universities, requested him to reconsider the decision to transfer him till the inquiry against him is finished. Referring to media reports to remove him, he claimed he did not know if the reports were genuine.
