KARAK/ DI KHAN: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq thinks it is high time the government revised its strategy against terrorism as it failed to establish peace across the country.

Talking to the media in Karak and to lawyers in DI Khan on Saturday, Siraj said the Badhaber base attack aggrieved the entire country. “Our enemies want to destabilise Pakistan.”

Siraj said the country has been deserted by everyone in the war against terror, blaming rulers of the past for numerous decisions. “Several dictators came to power. Although the politicos stuck to their guns, the stand taken by the legal fraternity is known to all,” he said at an event put together by DI Khan Bar Association.

“The ruling class consists of landowners, industrialists and bureaucrats. These 275 families have their roots in every political party. They were directly responsible for the separation of East Pakistan. It is because of them that today Pakistan is overburdened with debts.”

The JI supremo said justice is only for those who can afford it. “There are zero opportunities of social mobility for the common man,” he added. Siraj said those who talk about issues like poverty, unemployment and price hikes never had to face any adversities. “According to a survey, around 50 million Pakistanis are suffering from depression.”

Siraj said if the people voted JI in, the party would revamp the entire system. Talking about the “revolutionary” measures his party will undertake, he said, “Religious seminaries will provide free education. Treatment for fatal diseases will be free. Three and five marla plots will be distributed among the poor.”
