Modarba Scandal : Prime accused gets bail

The IHC bench fixed the next hearing on October 16

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted the interim bail plea of Mufti Ehsan, the prime accused in the Modarba scandal, and ordered his release against surety bonds worth Rs100 million each. A divisional IHC bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Athar Minullah took up the case for hearing on Wednesday. The court also directed to place the name of the accused on the Exit Control List, and also directed the accused to pay Rs100 million to the affectees of the scam within a month. The court also accepted bail pleas of Nazir Ahmad, Ubaidullah, Hafiz Mukhtar Khan and Osama Tareen, the other co-accused in the case, against sureties of Rs10 million each. The IHC bench fixed the next hearing on October 16.
